	Turangi is set in the mountains of the central North Island, on the shores of Lake Taupo. The surrounding rivers like the Tauranga-Taupo, the Hinemaiai and the Tongariro River are considered as some of the best trout fishing in the world. It is just a 40min drive to the mountain for a days skiing, hire shops just round the corner.
